Pediatric occupational therapy helps children build the skills they need for everyday life. A child's main "occupations" are things like playing, learning, dressing, eating, writing, managing emotions, and connecting with others. When these everyday tasks are harder than they should be, occupational therapy uses evidence-based, play-based strategies grounded in each child's daily routines to support the development of motor, sensory, and self-regulation skills, helping children build the confidence and independence to engage in the activities that matter most.

Parent coaching is one-on-one guidance offered virtually or by phone that equips you with practical strategies to support your child’s development at home. Individualized OT sessions work directly with your child on specific skills, while parent coaching works with you to build your confidence and ability to support your child and family every day. Parent coaching can stand alone or run alongside your child’s OT sessions. After getting to know your child, your therapist will recommend whether parent coaching or direct occupational therapy would be the best fit or whether a combination of both would benefit your family most. Parent coaching is a private-pay service and is not billed through insurance.
-
Grow Groups are outdoor enrichment groups designed and led by pediatric therapists, where children build motor skills, sensory engagement, social connection, and confidence through guided, nature-based play. They are a developmental and wellness program, not occupational therapy, and are open to all children with no referral or diagnosis needed.

Whether a referral is required depends on your method of payment. Arkansas Medicaid and commercial insurance plans require a written prescription and referral from your child's primary care provider before occupational therapy services can begin. We are glad to assist in coordinating this documentation with your child's physician. For families paying privately, no referral is necessary. Please note that parent coaching and Grow Groups (our outdoor enrichment groups) are not billed through insurance and therefore do not require a referral.

The first therapy visit is an occupational therapy evaluation, where we get to know your child by observing how they move, play, and manage daily routines while listening to your concerns and goals. Using a standardized assessment as part of this process, we then build an individualized plan of care and walk you through our findings and recommendations.

We serve children from birth through age 17. Families commonly reach out for sensory processing challenges, fine and gross motor delays, self-regulation and big emotions, handwriting difficulty, feeding and mealtime struggles, developmental delays, autism, ADHD, and coordination concerns. If you're unsure whether your child's needs fit, please reach out and we can talk through how we can help.
-
We come to your child. Sessions happen in your home, at daycare or preschool, or in community settings where your child spends time. When therapy happens where real life unfolds, new skills take root in your child's daily routines.
-
We serve Mountain Home and the surrounding communities within roughly 30 miles. If you're not sure whether you're in our service area, reach out and we'll let you know.
-
The level of caregiver involvement depends on your child’s age, needs, and goals. Our services are family-centered, parent-supportive, and child-led, so we recommend a caregiver be present during sessions to participate, assist, or receive education as needed. A caregiver can be a parent, teacher, or other family member.

We are currently in network with Arkansas Medicaid (ARKids First), Caresource, Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna. We are working to be in network with Arkansas Total Care, Empower, Summit Community Care, and private insurances including Ambetter and QualChoice. We also offer private-pay (cash-pay) options. If you don’t see your plan listed, please give us a call to confirm. Insurance participation can change, so we make every effort to verify your benefits before your first visit.
-
No. Both Grow Groups and parent coaching are private-pay (cash-pay) programs. They are not billed through insurance and do not require a referral.

Session length and frequency are based on your child's evaluation results and individual goals, and we adjust as your child grows and progresses. We'll walk you through our recommendations after the evaluation so you know exactly what to expect.
