Meet Grow Groups

Our outdoor enrichment groups bring children together in nature to explore, move, play, and grow alongside their peers. Each group is intentionally designed and facilitated by occupational therapists, drawing on their deep understanding of child development to create experiences that nurture motor skills, sensory engagement, self-regulation, social connection, and confidence. Through hands-on outdoor activities, children build meaningful skills while doing what they do best: playing and exploring.

Rooted in Nature

There is something powerful about learning and growing in nature. The outdoors offers children a rich, ever-changing environment that simply cannot be recreated indoors, one that engages the whole child through movement, discovery, and hands-on exploration. Our enrichment groups are built on a growing body of research showing that nature-based play supports children's development in meaningful ways.

Enrichment, Led by Experts

Our outdoor enrichment groups are a developmental and wellness program, not occupational therapy. While they are designed and led by skilled occupational therapists, they do not involve evaluation, diagnosis, or individualized treatment, and they are not billed through insurance. Enrichment groups are open to all children and do not require a referral. Families seeking occupational therapy can learn more on our Individual OT Sessions page.

Our Groups

Our four groups are organized by age and developmental stage, so every child grows alongside peers at a similar point in their journey.

Seedlings (Ages 1–2)

Our littlest explorers. Seedlings focuses on sensory discovery, early movement, and the joy of exploring the natural world alongside a caregiver.

Sprouts (Ages 3–5)

Curious and growing. Sprouts encourages emerging motor skills, imaginative play, early social connection, and confidence through playful outdoor exploration.

Saplings (Ages 6–8)

Building strength and independence. Saplings supports coordination, teamwork, problem-solving, and social skills through more active, adventurous nature-based challenges.

Pines (Ages 9–12)

Standing tall. Pines fosters resilience, leadership, collaboration, and self-regulation through engaging outdoor activities designed for older children.

Growing Together, Outdoors

Motor Development

As children climb, balance, and explore uneven terrain, they build strength, coordination, and fine motor skills through natural movement that outdoor play invites.

Social Connection

Small-group outdoor play encourages cooperation, communication, problem-solving, and friendship, as children learn and grow alongside their peers.

Sensory Engagement

The outdoors naturally engages every sensory system, including body awareness, touch, sound, and sight, in ways that support regulation, attention, and a calm, ready-to-learn state.

Emotional Growth

Time in nature is linked to lower stress, improved mood, and a greater ability to manage emotions. The outdoors gives children space to practice self-regulation and to overcome challenges.

Confidence and Resilience

Navigating real-world challenges outdoors, at a child's own pace and with skilled support, builds focus, problem-solving, independence, and a genuine sense of "I can do it."
